About Treasure Keepers

Grand treasures, like grandparents, tell stories of days past, and
only you can make them last.

As you purchase a key to unlock the whispers...
Listen to the echoes as they become clearer.

Imagine another that lived in the mirror...

Feel the woodcraft, touch the brass, find your reflection in the looking glass.

A treasure has been waiting just for you, its keeper, to create stories anew.

But do not forget the ones before, those memories you will come to adore.

Tell your family, pets, and guests, keep those stories from their rest.

Will they be ordinary... or will they be Grand Treasures?

Lorrie Pande - Owner

Lorrie has a BFA from Stephens College in Dance & Theatre with a Minor in Fine Arts and an MA from Northwestern University in Theatre, studying Shakespeare, Acting, Storytelling, Children's Theatre, Directing & Set Design.  She grew up in the Chicago area, where she enjoyed visits to the Art Institute, Merchandise Mart, The Drake Hotel, The Blackstone, The Opera House, The Shubert Theatre and the Chicago Public Library. She came to appreciate, art and architecture, period furniture, symphonic music and the magic of live theatre.

During her teenage years, she became involved in Drama, Music, Dance & Fine Arts. As a young professional, she taught Montessori and became Orff Certified,  owned a Children's Theatre, wrote scripts, directed live radio for WBEZ, and managed young people in film & television, until she began her family in the early 1980s and relocated to South Florida.

Sunday Tea at The Breakers of Palm Beach with her daughters, became a favorite pastime. Together, they would gaze in amazement at the magnificent architecture and furniture design that surrounded them. Lorrie eventually directed several theatrical productions at the Breakers Hotel and attended many charity functions in the Grand Ballrooms with her family. She attended Charity Luncheons at Mara Lago, one of them, A Bob Mackie Fashion Show, chaired by her mother, Dr. Maude Pande.

Lorrie was an event planner for Golf Tournament Galas at Trump International, chaired by her father, the late Dr. Lawrence Pande Jr., for The Place of Hope and The Angels of Charity. As an entertainment and event planner, she worked for her parents college food service company, PFM, at such locations as; The Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, The Fairmont in New Orleans, The Grand Ol Opryland Ballroom, and The Boca Grande Hotel for the American Association of State College and University Presidents.

During her transatlantic travels throughout Europe she fell in love with the castles and architecture of Scotland, Ireland, England, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Czechoslovakia and the different periods of furniture design. While on Safari in South Africa, she came to appreciate the culture of native art, ancient masks, wood carvings and the difficulties of transporting these treasures to the United States.

Throughout her professional career in the world of theatre, film and television production, Lorrie was a Director at The Kravis Center, The Burt Reynold's Theatre, The Lighthouse Gallery, Bak Middle School, Dreyfoos School of the Arts and The Benjamin School.  She was a fanatic about the authenticity of period styles during the planning stages of set design and costuming. While shopping for props and sets she developed a relationship with True Treasures of Palm Beach, the only shop in the area to find such pieces for her productions. Interesting and unexplainable things happened to her as she went hunting through the many rooms of their collections.

While directing Sherlock Holmes, books and pipe collections would appear from an estate sale that had just arrived. While directing Oliver Twist, Charles Dickens Collections appeared, and all around the shop she noticed books of Oliver Twist. She began to realize that antiques connected people to memories and experiences, and she grew fond of this whispering world that echoed to her from another time and place. Lorrie believed that, "If people can find wisdom in an old book, wonder from a beautiful painting and comfort from well designed sofas and chairs, there must be others like me who would want to collect items from grand estates for their homes."

While planning to relocate from the Palm Beach area to Asheville, Lorrie decided that she wanted to work in the calming world of antiques and collectibles where every treasure tells a story. Her flair for the dramatic is reflected in the ever changing design of the shop. As a natural hunter gatherer, Lorrie has developed a keen eye for spotting the unique and has her associates at True Treasures of Palm Beach on the look out for new arrivals.
